Post How many EP would you exchange for 1 AP?

I don't really want to have to track 2 separate awards for my PCs, so I'm contemplating letting spend EP to buy Advantages as well as skills. My question is, what do y'all think would be a fair exchange:
10 EP to purchase 1 Advantage Point?
15 EP to purchase 1 Advantage Point?
or even 20 or more?

Any thoughts would be very much appreciated!

We separated APs from EPs for a reason. Because the EP cost to raise a skill gos up and up, while AP costs are flat, if you just award EPs and allow players to buy APs with them, your campaign will reach a point where your players no longer buy skills. They'll just save up their EPs to buy up their stats with APs. And that won't feel right.

Aahh...good point! Hmmm; what about this:
For every 10 (or 15 or 20) EPs earned, a PC automatically gains 1 AP? Would that 'even out' the problem?

Thanks Jeff, for your answers so far! My group tried GURPS and failed miserably, but I think your rules system keeps most of the benefits and eliminates many of the problems (especially with combat); which is why I'm so eager to run it.

Doing it that way wouldn't cause the problem I described. But it wouldn't be as fun or make as much sense as handing out APs to sweeten the award at major points during the campaign 😉

Yeah, I think you're right. I'm just concerned that coming from our GURPS background, it will seem a mite peculiar to only occasionally hand out APs. And (of course) I want to avoid going overboard with handing 'em out as well.

But considering how interested my players are about the rest of the rules, that may not be as big a deal. Thanks Jeff!
